Changing a typewriter ribbon
Changing a typewriter ribbon can be a frustrating and inky experience. Tom Hanks makes it look easy (but wait, did he get ink finger prints on his Hermes…) and is quite entertaining to watch.
I would recommend you also search up on YouTube videos on changing your typewriter ribbon like this one that I find very helpful.
A typewriter is featured in every short story
Mr. Hanks starred in the recent movie California Typewriter which I’m sure many of you have seen. Quite surprisingly, I haven’t seen it yet. Shocking to even myself! I must rectify this straight away.
Would you recommend it?
I picked up his book though, just this week (again I’m a bit late to the party) and I am thoroughly enjoying it so far.
As for me and my own typewriter ribbons, I sometimes try to change my own, but most often I seek out my guy Eustace at Brentwood Business Machines as he is a wizard with all things typewriter. I highly recommend him for repairs and ribbon threading alike. Tell him Barb sent you.
