Take a look at the beautiful handwriting inside some old books I found, along with new friend Ramona from HappilyWriting.com, at a recent used book sale.

This inscription above made me wonder if the book was a prize for a piece of writing or for penmanship. I love how the ink has seeped and bled into the page a bit.

Do you write your name (or something more) inside your books? I think I might start. Who knows where my books will end up many years from now.
Such great photos you took, Barb, and in seconds! It’s such a joy to gush with someone else over signatures and other goodies in the cover pages of books. I too (no surprise?) love snail mail letters. I have one friend who (luckily?) does not use a computer or email, so we pour our hearts out in snail-mail letters with beautiful cards (and the odd expensive international phone call). How awesome to meet you in person at the Calgary READS sale, and happy letter-writing and blogging!
Ahh, you are so sweet Ramona. Thanks again for allowing me to snap the pics of your new purchases. Have you explored/read them further? It was indeed a treat to meet you at Calgary Reads booksale. I look forward to when we might meet again. 🙂
I write in my books. Not all of them, but some. What a wonderful find. I especially like the handwritten poem too.
It was a wonderful find, JarieLyn. I was volunteering in the ‘collectibles’ book section for a portion of the time and stumbled upon them. I love the handwriting on that poem too.
Oh, I write in books….we always have the opportunity to speak ‘words of life’ to others….great opportunity 🙂
I somehow thought you might write in your books Sydney! Love it.
