A workshop with pens, paper and type writers.
……and there was a woman at the pen club meeting who had upcycled maps into pen cups. She rolled individual pages into tubes, about the size of straws, and glued them around the outside of a clean tin can, added some cork to the bottom (inside and out) and voila!! She’s also a pilot and used some outdated flight maps as the “tubes”. I bought one of those for my brother who is also a pilot.

This sounds so fun. Sadly, I’m not “local” but I will put your location on my “travel here” list for a future visit. I am in “writing” mode as I went to the Colorado Pen Posse club meeting yesterday. We’re organizing the 2nd Annual Colorado Pen Show. Last year was the first (obviously) and also MY first pen show. There are many folks out there keeping writing-by-hand alive. BTW where does one go to shop for vintage, unused stamps? Thanks for your thoughts on writing. I always enjoy reading your posts and seeing your pictures.
Hi there Melanie, I so wish you could join us too on this event! Would be thrilled to have you visit some time. Imagine all the letter writing that would happen. I’ve never been to a pen show, must see if I can find one local. As for vintage stamps, most people I know order from amazon, but luckily, there is a darling of a shop in my city. It took a little sleuthing to find it, but well worth it. Best of luck finding one near you too.
